On February 25, the "Yangtze River Delta Fuel Cell Vehicle Industrialization Development Seminar and Fuel Cell Special Committee Inauguration Ceremony" was successfully held in Shanghai. Shanghai Easyland Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. has taken on the role of Deputy Director Unit.

The "Fuel Cell Special Committee," led by Reborn Group, includes Deputy Director Units such as Jie Hydrogen Technology, Hydrogen Morning Technology, Garrett (Shanghai), Shanghai Easyland, and the Shanghai Motor Vehicle Testing Center, along with 26 member organizations. The "Fuel Cell Industry Expert Group" comprises 29 experts from Tongji University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, SAIC Maxus, Shanghai Wanxiang, and various upstream and downstream enterprises, forming a robust innovation support system integrating industry, academia, and research.

Release of the "Shanghai Fuel Cell Component High-Quality Development Initiative"

As the hydrogen and fuel cell vehicle industry accelerates, it is imperative for enterprises across the value chain to adhere to independent innovation, collaborate, and strengthen safety awareness to meet automotive-grade quality requirements. This entails a commitment to quality while avoiding an excessive pursuit of speed, thereby fostering a safe and controllable industrial ecosystem to promote high-quality development. In this context, the "Fuel Cell Special Committee" of the Shanghai Automotive Parts Industry Association has issued the "Shanghai Fuel Cell Component High-Quality Development Initiative."

Green and low-carbon development is the prevailing trend. Following the establishment of the national "dual carbon" strategy, the "14th Five-Year Plan" emphasizes seizing opportunities for hydrogen and fuel cell vehicle industrialization. Achieving hydrogen application and fuel cell vehicle industrialization is crucial. This requires enterprises across the value chain to focus on independent innovation, overcome critical technology bottlenecks, achieve mass production of key materials and components, significantly reduce fuel cell vehicle costs, and accelerate large-scale commercialization. By fostering collaborative innovation, we aim to drive the large-scale development of hydrogen energy and fuel cell vehicles in Shanghai, supporting the high-quality development of China's fuel cell industry and enhancing its core competitiveness, positioning Shanghai as a global hub for fuel cell technology innovation, standard-setting, and industry development.

The initiative comprises the following key points:

1.Commit to High-Quality Development and Meet Automotive Standards: Encourage enterprises to engage in iterative innovation through forward development experiences and systems, maintaining technological leadership. Products must meet stringent testing and verification, ensuring durability and reliability according to automotive standards.
2.Promote Autonomous Control and Develop Core Components: Lead by system enterprises to strengthen the supply chain. Foster international exchanges and domestic cooperation to achieve autonomous control of key materials such as catalysts, proton exchange membranes, and carbon paper, and accelerate the mass production of stacks, membranes, bipolar plates, air compressors, and hydrogen circulation systems.
3.Enhance Hydrogen Safety Regulations and Ensure Safe Development: Increase research on hydrogen safety and risk assessment, improve and comply with hydrogen-related laboratory and safety production regulations, and establish after-sales maintenance systems to create a service closure loop.
4.Streamline the Industry-Academia-Research-Application Chain for Technological Innovation: Focus on overcoming common industry challenges and gaining international standards, increasing basic and applied research, and enhancing innovation capabilities. This will stimulate the R&D potential of enterprises, universities, and research institutions, leading to original outcomes and breakthroughs in critical technologies.

Easyland’s Commitment to Fuel Cell Technology

Easyland is an international enterprise specializing in the research and manufacturing of turbocharging systems, applying its products across energy-efficient vehicles, hybrid vehicles, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, and general aviation sectors. With a commitment to the "ALL IN GREEN" strategy, focusing on green factories, products, and intelligent manufacturing, Easyland aims to "Achieve a Green Future" and lead in turbocharging technology applications, earning accolades such as "National Green Factory," "National Two Integration Pilot Enterprise," and "National High-Tech Enterprise."

Since 2018, Easyland has utilized its expertise in electric turbocharging technology to develop high-power fuel cell compressors. The R&D team consists of over 60 members, including 11 PhDs, collaborating with institutions like the University of Birmingham, Tsinghua University, Tongji University, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Dalian Maritime University, and Jiangsu University. Easyland has established three provincial-level R&D innovation platforms in its Wuxi factory: the "Jiangsu Hydrogen Energy and Fuel Cell Engineering Research Center," the "Jiangsu Fuel Cell Compressor Engineering Technology Research Center," and the "Jiangsu Enterprise Technology Center."

Over the past three years, Easyland has achieved significant R&D milestones, including 11 national patents, six of which are for inventions. The first-generation technology for fuel cell compressor key technologies received support from Wuxi’s industrial foresight projects in 2019, and the new generation of oil-free air bearings for fuel cell system compressors was awarded key R&D project status by the Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Department in 2020. The company has built a comprehensive fuel cell compressor engineering laboratory, equipped with various testing stations.

Easyland has developed and mass-produced three platform products, including peak power 10KW (single-stage), and 20KW and 30KW (dual-stage) air-bearing compressors, compatible with 45KW-150KW stack systems. Custom low-power compressors have also been developed for applications such as forklifts. The products meet international advanced levels, breaking foreign technology monopolies, and have been supplied to multiple system companies and OEMs in China. Currently, Easyland is working on the next-generation energy recovery dual-stage compressors.

By integrating advanced foreign equipment and technology, Easyland has established an intelligent production workshop for fuel cell compressors, earning the title of "Jiangsu Provincial Intelligent Workshop." This workshop incorporates comprehensive equipment management, digital twins for production processes, real-time production visualization, and connects with MDC and MES systems for data acquisition and quality control, ensuring product traceability and anti-counterfeiting throughout the production process.
